Coaching is a collaborative partnership between a coach and willing individual which connects at the deep personal level of beliefs, values, and visions. Through a process of discovery, it enables goal setting and action steps. The coaching relationship creates extraordinary results that are implemented into the client's experience.
What is the difference between coaching and training?
Training requires an individual who has an expertise in a specific area to teach or train an individual or group of individuals a specific skill or behavior from their area of expertise. In coaching, the coach plays a supportive role in exploring areas in a client's life that needs enhancement and improvement, as identified by the client.
What is the difference between coaching and consulting?
Consulting requires the diagnosis of the needs of an individual or organization and offers solutions based on their area of expertise to solve the problem. The coach approach uses tools and a process to assist a client to generate and develop their own solutions and holds the client accountable to follow through with their own solutions for greater success.
What is the difference between coaching and counseling?
Counseling is a process that focuses on the past and present experiences with attention on despair. The counselor can work through areas of concern and problems that have an effect on daily functioning. The coach approach focuses on the future and what the client would like in the future, why the client wants it, and how the client will achieve it. Coaching will be able to move you forward to achieve success.
What is the difference between coaching and friendship?
Friendship is an emotional and biased relationship between two individuals who may support one another but frequently the advice that is shared is biased. The coach approach requires the coach to support the client, but it is not biased or emotional, as the coach takes a neutral role in the process.
