REBECCA WABISCHEWICH,  Hons. B.A. (Psych), MPH, MACP

Rebecca is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who believes that each and every individual is unique in his or own way and that as a result, in a therapeutic setting, it is alwaYs best to use an individualized approach to develop an appropriate treatment plan. Through a collaborative approach that is nonjudgmental, Rebecca works with clients to help them  recognize themes or patterns within their life or behaviours, identify personal strengths, develop effective coping skills, and initiate constructive life change. Rebecca has been described as being emphatic, observant, and realistic in a therapeutic context.

Some of the evidence-based therapies that Rebecca utilizes when working with individuals include cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. In order to address each client as distinct, Rebecca ensures an integrative approach, working from and conceptualizing cases through a biopsychosocial model. Some of the theoretical backgrounds that Rebecca works from include psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioural, and social learning models.

Prior to obtaining her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, Rebecca obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Lakehead University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts (psychology) from York University.
